Like most things, this relationship was almost over before it started. After Dustin finally convinced Kelsey to go out with him, he almost didn’t make it any further. He forgot his wallet, came to the door of the restaurant, sent a text and turned around. His text said he would be back, but Kelsey not sure that he actually would, almost got up and left. That night, Kelsey got egg in her hair at dinner, tried to get ECHL players to fight, but Dustin knew he was in trouble when she wanted to stay for overtime. What a win for the Indy Fuel that night.

What a start, right?

Over the next few years, it was clear to everyone that this was something that was going to last. Dustin quickly tagged along on Kelsey’s bucket list of seeing all hockey teams on home ice, and Kelsey became a Miami football season ticket holder.

Since that first Fuel win, D&K have raised two rambunctious pups, bought and sold their first house, moved to a new state, and decided that forever seems like it might be enough time.
